The Synagogue of Satan

In the letters to the early Christian churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9, Jesus makes reference to a Synagogue of Satan (Greek: συναγωγή τοῦ Σατανᾶ, synagōgḗ toũ Satanã), in each case referring to a group persecuting the church "who say they are Jews and are not".

The verse has often been used to justify antisemitism.[1][2] Evangelical scholars broadly disagree with these interpretations, based on the fact that the suspected author of Revelation was likely Jewish.[3]: 89

Other uses

Similar language is found in the Dead Sea Scrolls, where a small persecuted Jewish sect considered the rest of Judaism apostate, and called its persecutors "the lot of Belial" (Satan).[4]

The phrase is also used in a fragment of a lost work on Dioscorus I of Alexandria found at the Monastery of Saint Macarius the Great in 1923 and identified by American theologian William Hatch.[5] Hatch believes the term refers to the Council of Chalcedon, which Dioscorus attended in 451 and from which he was deposed and exiled for his Miaphysitism.

In 1653, Quakers Elizabeth Williams and Mary Fisher attacked members of Sidney Sussex College at Cambridge as "Antichrists" and called their college "a Cage of unclean Birds and a Synagogue of Satan".[6] For this, they were publicly flogged.

Billy Graham used the phrase "synagogue of Satan" to refer to "one of two types of Jews" in a private 1973 White House conversation with President Richard Nixon.[7][8][9] When tapes of the conversation were released many years later, Graham apologized for what were deemed by many to be antisemitic remarks.[10]

The encyclical Etsi multa, written by Pope Pius IX in 1873, refers to Freemasonry as "the synagogue of Satan".[11]

The Edomites has always strived to steal back Jacobs birthright land and this is still going on today.

Many modern Jews are of Edomite lineage who are not Jews by birth (ethnic & biologic Juda - Benjamin Tribes) but converts to Judaism mainly under the strict Hasmodian dynasty. Jaesus talks about this group of Edomites several times and warnes about them. The foundation is to be found in the book of Reveleation 2:8-9 and 3:7-9 as it states;

There is a Significant group of people that are claiming to be Jews but are not. Jews are from the tribes of Juda and Benjamin. Apostle Paul is considered a Jew bacause he was from the tribe of Benjamin, not because he was a Pharisee but because of his tribe. King David and Jesus comes from the tribe of Juda.  Jesus sits on the throne of David.  All other tribes is known as the Israelites. There is a group that, throughout the history of the 7 churches ( each church corresponds to a specific time & era in the Christian history) has ben operating from the time of Jesus and Jesus calls them "The Synagogue of Satan". 

The Roman Empire appointed King Herod (Edomite) who slaughtered the innocence in the Gospel of Matthew was an Edomite King of the Jews in Jerusalem. Historian Josephus writes of Herod to be a "half Jew". Herod had no ethnic or Jewish right to the throne and it was part of the Roman occupation. Herod was widely known for his cruelty and evil ruler. He treated ethnic Jews with contermpt and hate. 

The connections between the ancient Edomite group and the modern Edomite group is not so hard to detect. They say they are Jews but are not, but lies. The Epstein files is one modern example. You see Jeffrey Epstein who officially acts and talks in superiority and talks down to general people calling the trash and Goyim in parties, meetings and events to adhere to the elite and raise funding and interest. He treated people as of lesser worth beings, as animals. Categorizing black people as lowest in rang together with white Europeans who were trash and were subordinated his own "race". He harmed children in horrible ways. He commissioned a 9x9 feet painting of "the slaughter of innocence" - by Herod and put it up on the Zorro ranch (according to the investigative e-mail mtrl). 

Epstein is doing today exactly what the Herodians did at the time of Jesus, harming multitudes of children as a symbol of innocence and being of the most loving and closest to creation of GOD. Historian Josephus contributes greatly in his books "Antiquities of the Jews" and "War of the Jews". Josephus quotes Antigones, the last Judeean King, as he defines Herod as a half Jew and from the lineage of Idomean. Idomean is out of Edom wich is the area of origin for Edomites in the days of Jesus. So Herod is an Edomite possesing the kingdom of Jerusalem. The true Jews from the Hasmonian kingdom wich arose after the Maccabeean revolution converted the Edomites to Judaism under the Hasmonian period. So the Edomites controlled Jerusalem during the time of Jesus and that unfolds the history of this internal war of Judaism.  

Long before these events, the story of the brothers Jacob & Esau were the birthright goes to the younger Jacob they become enemies on a deeper level though they seem to get along on the surface periodically. But the division grows with time. During the period of King Davids rule, King David subjugate all the Edomites and defeats them. And after Hesekiah, when Jeremiah is prophet, when Babylon is coming to conquer Jerusalem, the Edomites is the Arch-Enemy, not Babylon, but Edom. Babylon is just a tool of the lord to bring punishment and the actual Arch- Nemisis of Israel is consistently the Edomites. When Babylon comes and occupy Jerusalem, Edom assists Babylon and also rejoyces that the Jews are getting killed. 

These are the same spiritually dispositioned souls that today rejoyce, dance in the streets and celebrates when the twin towers 9/11 falls down or when Gaza is occupied and burned to the ground like it is a drinking party of some sort. This behavior is very sick and spiritually disconnected. Then we compare with Biblical writings and then we are confronted with the same behaviour in the Edomite group. They watch the calamity of other people with glee and excitement - satanic in nature, definetely not from the same God as the creator of all life in love to all life. 

Herods son, also named Herod, is part of the trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The father slaughter the innocence and tries to kill Jesus, the son successfully kills Jesus. Pontius Pilate is the decisive ruler but he is swayed by Herod and the Sanhedrin. Pilate´s initial standing is that Jesus should go free because he is innocent of the accusations thrown against him and there is no evidence to prove otherwise. But Pilate falls under the pressure from the Edomites.No wonder that God says; "Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated." The prophets from this point forward prophecied total destruction for Edom. None will survive the final judgement.

The Edomites and their Lineage. The evidence that is presented through science, history and scripture is relatively strong. The people who are currently ruling Jerusalem are just like the Herodians in the 1st century (The Jesus Time window), they are Edomites and converts to Judaism but NOT actually Jews. The idea of there being a significant group of people on earth, can not be overlooked and Jesus himself braught them up, There is a group on earth that claim to be Jews but are not is actually rooted in scripture. Our primary scripture for this is Revelation 3:9 and also in Revelation chapter 2:8-9.

The Herodians were Edomites so King Herod and his offspring were Edomites and so were Judas Iscariot. These are the two primary enemies to Jesus of the lineage of David and the house of Juda during his ministry. We know that Herod slaughtered the innocent and resisted Jesus and his son resisted Jesus and put him on trial. We know that Herod replaced the Sanhedrin lineage with many who were Edomites or pro-Herodians. There was a restructuring of the Sanhedrin, both the Pharisees and the Sadducees wich is proven in the writings of historian Josephus - Jewish War - Book 2 Chapter 8 section 1:19 "For there are three philosophical sects among the Jews: 

1. The followers of the first wich are the Pharisees.

2. The followers of the second, the Sadducees.

3. The third wich holds a more strict discipline are the Essenes. They are Jews by birth and seem to have greater affection for eachother than other sects have." 

The Pharisees and Sadducees were NOT Jews by birth but had ben infiltrated by Edomites who were converts to Judaism and were NOT out of the tribe of Juda. In order to be a Jew you have to be from the tribe of Juda or Benjamin. Jesus himself was from the tribe of Juda (actual meaning Jesus = Juda) .Those are considered the Jews in scripture, the rest of the tribes are considered to be the Israelites. When Josephus writes that the Essenes were Jews by birth, he is indicating that the other two groups had ben infiltrated by Edomites who were saying they were Jews but are not and lie. In the book Antiquities 14 chapter 15, Antigonus, who is a Jew, the last Hasmonian king of Judeea, after the Maccabeean revolt and the Hasmonian dynasty. Antigonus is the last King of Judeea and is replaced by the Roman Empire Herod. Antigonus writes about King Herod as follows: "He is an Edomean, a half Jew." Antigonus was frustrated with this fact that Herod was not a Jew in full, but a pretender who do not deserve to rule Jerusalem. 

The group that reigned Jerusalem during Jesus time are the same group that reigns Jerusalem today. This group betrayed Jesus then and will betray humanity welcoming in the Antechrist to be the false light of the world into the third temple and proclaims himself to be God. 

Judas Iscariot betrayes Jesus with 30 silver coins and of the 12 Apostles, Judas is the only one from Edom. He is an Edomite. The name Judas Iscariot (Is-cariot - Hebrew phrase איש־קריות, (Κ-Qrîyôt), meaning "the man from Kerioth") is the name of the region in the north of Edom and south Juda were he originitaes from.

This is the Hypothesis. It is based on genuine historical, prophetic, scriptural evidence and of course the fact that our lord Jesus himself warns us that there is a group of people who say that they are Jews but are not, but lie. So this matters from many aspects. Jesus specifically warns us all in the Gospels "wach out  for the levan of the Pharisees and the Herodians." This group adhere more to the scripture of the Babylonian Talmud in wich they are given superiority over all mankind and authority to manipulate and regulate these lower human groups into various degrees of subordination. This group have been this way since Esau sold his birthright, married Canaanites and Ismaelites and created what is known as the Edomites.

In the prophecy of Obadiah it is written that the Edomites are ultimately destroyed by the lord when Israel comes and possesses Jerusalem. The deliverers will ascend mount Sion = Jerusalem, to judge the mountain of Esau and the Kingdom will be the lords. 

Without racism or prejudice and for the sake of investigative freedom. Cursed people groups exist today. The Bible teaches us of nationalities and curses. We all came from Japhet, Shem & Ham descended from Noah as common ancestor but there are groups that are more evil than others with genetic variation predispositions throughout the Biblical narrative. But all can be saved through Jesus Christ if they so choose. Nut there are groups that reject Christ in higher numbers and the line of Esau and Edomites are one of those groups. 

Ethnicity no longer factors for believers, it does factor for unbelievers. When we are believers we are a new creature and part of the Church that are our nation. We are grafted into Israel, according to Romans 11:-, but for those who rejects Christ ancient curses remain on nationalities and ethnicities. The Synagogue of Satan in Jerusalem has no problem being an ethno-state. They proclaim from the mountain top that they are the Jews, Gods chosen people, we are an ethnic state in full. But they do not want other groups to have ethnic identities because they are strength in ethnic identities. As a result, they are trying to eliminate the idea of ethnicity and they are doing that with more effort aginst european & anglosaxons than eny other group. That group is not allowed to have culture, history or to celebrate their ethnicity. Jews can but you can not.

Dr Karl Skorecki - Geneology of the Jews.

He is the world leading experts on the genetic Cohen Modal hapoltype (CMH). It is a set of genetic determinations located on a single chromosome. He connected the Ashkenazi to eachother, even though they had ben dispursed in so many places. He connected them successfully to eachother in 1997 when he discovered the CMH. When Dr. Skorecki got the following question:

- Are the Jewish people of today directly related to the Israelites of the Bible ?

His answer is critical, he is an authority, the living authority on Jewish genetics today. He responded:

"We do not have DNA from the Israelites from the Bible so there is no way to provide a direct answer to that question."

So the logic goes: - I can not prove that I am an Israelite of the Bible, but you better treat me as one -. That alone must raise suspicions of bias by itself. The current rulers of Jerusalem spares no cost proclaiming to the world that they are real Jews. They travel the Globe and paints the whole world in their Zionism mission and excludes and slander those who do not comply. But they refuse to allow anyone to examine their ethnic Jewish claim. 

If you really wanted to prove your true DNA origins and show that you are ethnic Jews, you would prioritize and expedite the investigation of burial sites from the 1st and 2nd Temple periods. But this has been refused to be done throughout the years. It has even been forbidden by law. These facts expose the current Edomite rulers of Jerusalem.

The present occupiers of Jerusalem have NOT ben permitting tests to be done on 1st and 2nd temple period grave sites. In fact, the studies in the cell are utilizing bodies from Megiddho and Ashkelon, both sites being historically riddled by Canaanites and Philisteens so the bodies there are Canaanite bodies. When the European and middle eastern Ashkenazi groups ties in with Canaanite & Philisteen groups it is telling us who they are. DNA is hard to fool. They are Canaanites % Edomites. It is in the Rothschild name.  

One study took DNA from a 1st period Temple tomb at Quriot Nerum near Jerusalem. The problem is that the sample size was tiny only partial data from 2 individuals not representative of the population and Jewish religious laws are prohibiting disturbing graves. It is very convenient that Talmudic law does not allow you to disturb graves in Jerusalem, we can not guarantee the group that is in Jerusalem is the same as the ones that were there thousands of years ago.  

If genuine Jewish graves were studied in mass, the genetic connection to Jerusalem would not be as strong as the Ashkenazi are claiming. The Ashkenazi mainly originates from the European lineage originating back to Japhet, one of Noahs 3 sons. This European Ashkenazi lineage is the the major Ashkenazi lineage in and around Jerusalem today. It is not realistic to assume that the Ashkenazi-Edomite-Canaanite lineage are ethnic Jews.

All that is proven since 1997 is that they are all related to eachother and that they have a common ancestor from + 3000 years ago. The common ancestors name are Esau, NOT Jacob. So they have a common ancestor but they can not prove that they are the Israelites of the Bible.

Dr: Skorecki further comments:

"Self identified Jews, many Jews that come from most diaspora communities, their DNA marker show that there are a high degree of relativeness to eachother indicating common ancestory. The closest non-Jewish populations are Levantine populations, Druz, Palestinians, Syrians, rather than their non-Jewish neighbors in the diaspora."

They are not Europeans, wich is true (only max 31 % European)        (-38:50 m)

A genetic marker is a variation in the nucleotide sequence of the DNA, known as a mutation. Mutations which occur within genes—a part of the DNA which codes for a protein—usually cause a malfunction or disease and is lost due to selection in succeeding generations. However, mutations found in so-called "non-coding regions" of the DNA tend to persist.

Since the Y chromosome consists almost entirely of non-coding DNA (except for the genes determining maleness), it would tend to accumulate mutations. Since it is passed from father to son without recombination, the genetic information on a Y chromosome of a man living today is basically the same as that of his ancient male ancestors, except for the rare mutations that occur along the hereditary line.

A combination of these neutral mutations, known as a haplotype, can serve as a genetic signature of a man's male ancestry. Maternal genealogies are also being studied by means of the m-DNA (mitrocondrial DNA), which is inherited only from the mother.

THE SEARCH BEGINS

Dr. Skorecki made contact with Professor Michael Hammer, of the University of Arizona, a leading researcher in molecular genetics and a pioneer in Y chromosome research. Professor Hammer uses DNA analysis to study the history of populations, their origins and migrations. His previous research included work on the origins of the Native American Indians and the development of the Japanese people.

A study was undertaken to test the hypothesis. If there were a common ancestor, the Cohanim should have common genetic markers at a higher frequency than the general Jewish population.

In the first study, as reported in the prestigious British science journal, Nature (January 2, 1997), 188 Jewish males were asked to contribute some cheek cells from which their DNA was extracted for study. Participants from Israel, England and North America were asked to identify whether they were a Cohen, Levi or Israelite, and to identify their family background.

The results of the analysis of the Y chromosome markers of the Cohanim and non-Cohanim were indeed significant. A particular marker, (YAP-) was detected in 98.5 percent of the Cohanim, and in a significantly lower percentage of non-Cohanim.

FURTHER CONFIRMATION

In a second study, Dr. Skorecki and associates gathered more DNA samples and expanded their selection of Y chromosome markers. Solidifying their hypothesis of the Cohens' common ancestor, they found that a particular array of six chromosomal markers was found in 97 of the 106 Cohens tested. This collection of markers has come to be known as the Cohen Modal Hapoltype (CMH)—the standard genetic signature of the Jewish priestly family. The chances of these findings happening at random is greater than one in 10,000.

The finding of a common set of genetic markers in both Ashkenazi and Sephardi Cohanim worldwide clearly indicates an origin pre-dating the separate development of the two communities around 1000 CE. Date calculation based on the variation of the mutations among Cohanim today yields a time frame of 106 generations from the ancestral founder of the line, some 3,300 years—the approximate time of the Exodus from Egypt, the lifetime of Aaron HaCohen.

Professor Hammer was recently in Israel for the Jewish Genome Conference. He confirmed that his findings are consistent—over 80 percent of self-identified Cohanim have a common set of markers.

The finding that less than one-third of the non-Cohen Jews who were tested possess these markers is not surprising to the geneticists. Jewishness is not defined genetically. Other Y-chromosomes can enter the Jewish gene pool through conversion or through a non-Jewish father. Jewish status is determined by the mother. Tribe membership follows the father's line.

AMAZING STATISTICS

Calculations based on the high rate of genetic similarity of today's Cohanim resulted in the highest "paternity-certainty" rate ever recorded in population genetics studies—a scientific testimony to family faithfulness.

Stated Dr. David Goldstein of Oxford University:

"For more than 90 percent of the Cohens to share the same genetic markers after such a period of time is a testament to the devotion of the wives of the Cohens over the years. Even a low rate of infidelity would have dramatically lowered the percentage."

Wider genetic studies of diverse present day Jewish communities show a remarkable genetic cohesiveness. Jews from Iran, Iraq, Yemen, North Africa and European Ashkenazim all cluster together with other Semitic groups, with their origin in the Middle East. A common geographical original can be seen for all mainstream Jewish groups studied.

This genetic research has clearly refuted the libel that the Ashkenazi Jews are not related to the ancient Hebrews, but are descendants of the Kuzar tribe—a pre-10th century Turko-Asian empire which reportedly converted en masse to Judaism. Researchers compared the DNA signature of the Ashkenazi Jews against those of Turkish-derived people, and found no correspondence.

OTHER SURPRISING FINDINGS

In their second published paper in Nature (July 9, 1998) the researchers included an unexpected finding. Those Jews in the study who identified themselves as Levites did not show a common set of markers as did the Cohanim. The Levites clustered in three groupings, one of them the CMH. According to tradition, the Levites should also show a genetic signature from a common paternal patrilineal ancestor. The researchers are now focusing effort on the study of Levites' genetic make up to learn more about their history in the Diaspora.

Using the CMH as a DNA signature of the ancient Hebrews, researchers are pursuing a hunt for Jewish genes around the world.

This could have ramifications in the search for the Biblical Ten Lost Tribes.

Using the genetic markers of the Cohanim as a yardstick, these genetic archaeologists are using DNA research to discover historical links to the Jewish people.

The researchers' policy is that the research is not a test of individuals, but an examination of the extended family. Having the CMH is not a proof of one's being a Cohen, for the mother's side is also significant in determining one's Cohen status. At present, there are no ramifications in Jewish law due to this discovery. No one is certified nor disqualified because of their Y chromosome markers.

The research has shown a clear genetic relationship amongst Cohanim and their direct lineage from a common ancestor. The research findings support the Torah statements that the line of Aaron will last throughout history:

"... and they shall have the Priesthood as a statute forever, and you shall consecrate Aaron and his sons." [Exodus 29:9]

"... it shall be for them an appointment to an everlasting Priesthood throughout their generations." [Exodus 40:15]

"And it shall be to him and to his descendants after him a covenant of everlasting Priesthood." [Numbers 25:13]

That our Torah tradition is supported by these findings is an inspiration for many that God surely keeps His promises. May we soon see the Cohanim restored to their service, Levites on their Temple platform and Israelites at their places.)))

The Canaanites.

Noahs sons were Japhet, Shem and Ham. The Canaanites are descendents of one of Noahs 3 sons Ham, they are Hamites. Historically they are the enemies to the Shemites. The Hebrews, the people of Isreal are Shemites descendents of Shem. Abraham is a descendent of Shem. 

A curse came on the Canaanites because of the act of Ham towards his father Noah were Ham supposedly slept with Noahs wife. If Ham was braking Leviticus law that states that if you sleep with your fathers wife you uncovered your fathers nakedness, the text would tell us that he explicitly slept with his fathers wife because in every other story, such as Ruben or Bilha, you get explicit detail that the son slept with the fathers wife. In the story of Noah it is Noah that gets drunk, it is Noah that goes into his tent, it is Noah that gets uncovered and it is Noah that gets violated and the wife is never invoked. It is a violation of his father and the Synagogue of Satan pattern follows through as a symbol into the future as a violation of his father. As a violation of their father God himself. They cricified the son of God - Jesus, the son of their own father. 

Today they violate the bodies and souls made in the image of the father God. They follow a scripture - Talmud that depicts Jesus burning forever in extrements in hell, that put themselves over any other human group or ethnecity comparing them to lesser animals, slaves or other variants of Goyims.

Esau & Jacob - The Devide.

TThe ancient conflict between the Jews of Israel lineaged through Juda and Benjamin, and the Canaanite, Edomite lineage is of both serious and persistent  nature. It comes from older Biblical history were Jacob and Esau were twin brothers born to Isaac and Rebekah. The Bible tells us that they struggled together in Rebekah's womb, a foreshadowing of their troubled relationship. Esau was born first and thereby became legal heir to the family birthright which included, among other things, being heir to the Covenant between God and Abraham. This birthright was a link in the line of descent through which the Promised Messiah was to comeh

In contrast with Esau who was a skillful hunter and his father's favorite, Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents (Genesis 25:27), and his mother's favorite. The Hebrew word for plain is the same word translated in other Scripture as perfect, upright, undefiled. So the word plain refers to Jacob's character as a man of God. God records His highest praise and blessing for Jacob: The LORD hath chosen Jacob unto Himself (Psalm 135:4).

Esau came from the field, and he was faint: And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me . . . with that same red pottage (stew); for I am faint (Genesis 25:29-30). Knowing the character of his brother, Jacob replied: Sell me this day thy birthright (25:31). Esau had no interest in spiritual things so he agreed, saying: I am at the point (about) to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? (25:32-34). Esau could not have been at the point to die by missing one meal but he revealed how worthless he considered the birthright.

When Issac was close to death it became time to give Esau his blessings. Issac asked Esau to go hunt for a special meal after which he would pass the blessing. Rebekah overhead and helped Jacob disguise himself as Esau and bring Issac the meal instead while his brother was still hunting. Because Issac had poor sight he was tricked into giving the blessing to Jacob. Esau was enraged and Jacob had to run away to save his life. 

The writer of Hebrews referred to Esau as a profane (godless) person (Hebrews 12:16). Before their births, God knew that Esau's descendants would become enemies of Israel for generations to come and He knew Jacob was a man of integrity. He had preordained that Jacob would be in the lineage of Jesus. Lesson from Jacob and Esau

In the New Testament, Esau's decision to sell his birthright is utilized as an illustration of ungodliness—a "godless" person who will put worldly attractions over spiritual blessings (Hebrews 12:15-17). By his instructive example, Esau warns us to hold firm to what is truly valuable, even if it means rebuking the desires of the flesh. The Bible uses the account of Jacob and Esau to represent God's calling and election. God chose the younger Jacob to carry on the Abrahamic Covenant, while Esau was providentially excluded from the Messianic lineage (Romans 9:11-14).

Why Is There So Much Hope in the Story of Jacob and Esau?

As famous siblings go in the Bible, Jacob and Esau rate up there with Cain and Abel. While their competition with each other is legendary, the fact that they forgave and reconciled is an equally powerful story.

Who Were Jacob and Esau in the Bible?

Jacob and Esau were the sons of Isaac and Rebekah, and the grandsons of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham, a descendent of Noah, had been told by God to leave his family and move to Canaan, as well as that his family line would be blessed (Genesis 12:1-4). Isaac was born when Abraham was over 100 years old, and Isaac married his wife Rebekah when he was 40 years old (Genesis 25:20). Like Abraham, Isaac lived in tents—a nomadic herder who moved around to wherever fields were available.

Like his parents—Sarah couldn't have children and laughed when God announced she would finally have one—Isaac and his wife initially struggled to have children. After various prayers, Rebekah gave birth to twins (Genesis 25:21).

Even before Jacob and Esau got out of the womb, it was clear that there would be problems. Rebekah felt the babies "jostling each other within her" (Genesis 25:22) and when she asked God was what happening, his answer was that her sons would be the founders of two separate nations (Genesis 25:23). Not only that, but one of the sons would be stronger, and while one would be older, he would serve the younger one (Genesis 25:23).

This competition continued even when Jacob and Esau were coming out of the womb: Esau came out first, but Jacob came out a moment later, grabbing his brother's heel (Genesis 25:24). It was also clear from the moment of birth that the boys would look very different. Esau was "red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment" (Genesis 25:24) and grew up to be an outdoorsman. Jacob was more interested in staying at home and developed into a clever, conniving man.

What Happened between Jacob and Esau before Jacob Ran Away?

As it's clear above, Jacob and Esau were set up from before birth to be two very different men, which would create problems if they weren't careful. The fact that their parents picked favorites—Isaac preferred Esau, Rebekah preferred Jacob (Genesis 25:28)—made things more complicated.

Jacob also showed that he wasn't above taking advantage of situations to get ahead of his brother: one day, Esau came home hungry from hunting and asked Jacob for some stew he was cooking. Jacob made Esau swear to give up his birthright (the firstborn son's share of the estate), and then gave him the stew (Genesis 25:27-34).

(((An aspect of Isaacs motive is that his priority is that he rather leave the birthright to the son that do care about future land and hold it up as important for future generations instead of leaving it to a son that trades the birthright away for a stew. The birthright and land was a very important priority and could not be left to a brother who could give it away for almost nothing in an instant under bodily cravings or temporary emotionall tantrums )))

However, the trouble between Jacob and Esau really came to a head when Isaac became old enough that his eyesight was gone, and he wasn't sure how much time he had left. At that point, he asked Esau to make him a wild game meal, and then he would give Esau his blessing (Genesis 27:1-4). This blessing was separate from Esau's birthright and had more long-lasting implications. It was about which of the two sons would inherit Abraham's mantle, continuing the covenant that God had made promising Abraham many descendants and other blessings (Genesis 17).

Urged on by Rebekah, Jacob put on a disguise that made his skin feel hairy like Esau's and went to Isaac posing as his brother. Isaac was initially confused since this man talked like Jacob (Genesis 27:21-23) but decided to believe the evidence of his hands. He then blessed Jacob, a blessing that promised a number of things: Abundant food from the land (Genesis 27:28), dominance over other people (Genesis 27:29a), dominance over his brothers and deference from his mother's family (Genesis 27:29b), that whoever cursed him would be cursed, that whoever blessed him would be blessed (Genesis 27:29c).

Esau came shortly afterward, and it quickly became clear what Jacob had done. Isaac told him that he could not bless him, and when Esau demanded something and wept, Isaac said the following:

"Your dwelling will be away from the earth's richness, away from the dew of heaven above. You will live the sword and you will serve your brother. But then you will grow restless, you will throw his yoke off your neck"Genesis 27:39-40. 

What Happened between Them When Jacob Returned?

After leaving Laban, Jacob sent messengers to Edom, where Esau had settled. His messengers came back with the news that Esau was coming to meet Jacob…and bringing 400 men with him. Worried this was an army coming to kill him, Jacob sent out a gift of livestock to Esau and cautiously began moving toward a place where they could meet.

After his party had crossed the Jabbok River, Jacob sent his family and possessions ahead and spent a night alone. A man appeared, they wrestled, and Jacob refused to let go until after the man had blessed him. The man replied that Jacob was wrestling with God himself (Genesis 32:24-32).

The next day, Jacob returned to his party, and say Esau arriving. He then moved Leah and her children to the front of his group, Rachel and Joseph to the back, and approached Esau in a humble pose (Genesis 33:1-3). Jacob approach bowing and moving slowly, but Esau ran to him and embraced him. They wept, and Esau asked about the animals Jacob had sent, protesting that he didn't need a gift (33:4-9). On Jacob's insistence, he took the gift and returned home (Genesis 33:10-12). Jacob traveled further into Canaan and bought some land that he settled on, naming it Elohe Israel (33:18-20).

Why Is There So Much Hope in Their Story?

There are many things we could take from the story of Jacob and Esau, but maybe the most important one is how hopeful their story is. Jacob and Esau literally were fighting each other from before they could remember. One of them cheated the other in a massive way, and it looked for a while as if revenge was going to settle their rivalry permanently. Instead, Esau forgave Jacob and they reconnected.

Contrary to how it's often explained, forgiveness doesn't act like wrong things didn't happen. Depending on our situation, it may not always be possible to make restitution (which may be what Jacob was aiming for with his gift of livestock). However, this does not mean we should not repent of our wrongdoing, forgive our wrongdoers, and work toward reconciling. We may find that just when it looked like someone couldn't care less about forgiving us, they are actually prepared to reach out and give grace.
